Anniversary campaign 2026-27

Bike for Peace turns 50. In 2026-27 we visit all nine nuclear powers with one appeal, a nuclear-free world by 2045.

We open with Round-the-World in September 2026 and an appeal to the UN. The full programme, eight tour segments visiting all nine nuclear powers, runs from August 2026 to the end of December 2027.

Tore Nærland addresses thousands of peace marchers under banners 'No more HIROSHIMA, No more NAGASAKI'

About Bike for Peace

Bike for Peace was founded by Tore Nærland and friends in 1978. The first tour crossed Northern Ireland during a violent period of the Troubles. Since then BFP has cycled for peace in more than 70 countries, always with the same method, dialogue across conflict lines, the bicycle as a bridge.

Today the work is led by President Tore Nærland and Vice President Frank Tomlinson.

Bike for Peace has received the MacBride Peace Prize, the Mahatma Gandhi Prize for non-violence, His Majesty The King's Medal of Merit in gold, and the Order of Dostyk.
